Plan a holiday in Shenzhen in the vibrant Guangdong Province of China and enjoy the experience of a lifetime. The city is one of the most populous in southern China and it’s adjacent to busy Hong Kong Island. It’s also on the UNESCO Creative Cities list and boasts many impressive sights and attractions.
The Window of the World Park is a not to be missed experience, and models of famous landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, the Grand Canyon and the Pyramids of Giza are beautifully executed and lit from within. This fully landscaped park is a great choice for outings and family trips and there are fabulous traditional Chinese dance shows on the outdoor stage every evening.
The city is known for its theme parks and attractions and one of the best has to be the Splendid China & Chinese Folk Culture Village. As well as replicas of Chinese landmarks like the Forbidden City, the Great Wall and the famous Terracotta Warriors, daily highlights include the thrilling Mongol horse battle and the sensational Phoenix Show in the evening.
Kids of all ages will be in their element at the Happy Valley theme park which boasts a fantastic selection of roller coasters, rides and attractions, and you won’t want to miss your chance to try the Snow Dragon.
The city has impressive shopping malls and exceptional nightlife and entertainment and it is also one of the premier golfing destinations in China. As well as some of the country’s first and earliest courses, it also boasts the world’s largest golf course, Mission Hills.
History lovers will be in heaven and there is something to see in every part if this fascinating city. Visit the Xin ‘an Ancient City district where the original settlement that became Shenzhen dates from the 4th century, or see the Tomb of the Young Song Emperor.
Beaches are another fabulous feature of the city, and include beautiful Xichong Beach and Dameisha Beach, while spas and massage parlours are abundant. Try everything from traditional Chinese massage and acupuncture to the latest high tech treatments in exclusive spas in each part of the city.
Concert halls, theatres, cinemas and art galleries, beautiful parks and outdoor spaces, fine restaurants and local bars and diners, plus hundreds of attractions for all ages make Shenzhen a truly exciting destination.
Getting around the city by Metro is fast and easy and the system runs throughout the day to all parts of Shenzhen. There are also local bus services and ferries to and from Hong Kong. The city taxi services have a meter system and fares are well regulated and reasonable. There is a fuel surcharge but it is small, and in general the service is very good.
